³ Jesus, fully aware that the Father had entrusted all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was returning to God, ⁴ got up from the table, removed his outer garments, and took a towel that he tied around his waist. ⁵ Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel wrapped around his waist.
